I have to totally agree that the funny is one of the major reasons for me loving a show. It's why I watch/watched SG1, it's why I stuck with Atlantis even though it initially looked a little shakey and it's lack is why I really like BSG but can't watch it recreationally.
It's also why I think The Joss is god. Because I think that humour makes you all up and happy and bonds you to the characters. You like them, so when they are then in danger or having a dramatic moment you're still right there with them.
