45.7 Celsius!?!

Dude! I just arrived back home (after a lovely trip to Sydney, which I'll talk about later). Do you want to know the maximum temperature here today? 45.7 degrees Celsius! That's 114.26 degrees Fahrenheit!! WTF?!? NOT COOL!

The forecast for tomorrow is 44 degrees, followed by 41 on Friday, 40 on Saturday and 40 on Sunday. *melts*

Anyway, did I miss anything exciting?

OMG, I'm seriously *melting* here just *thinking* about temperatures that warm. I don't care how awesome a place is to live, if there are temperatures like that, I'd pack my shit up and move to Antarctica to live with the penguins, because I just *cannot* handle the heat (I was so born in the right country).

*pets you*

Holy crap, darl! 40° AT 9PM?! WTF!!

Lots of cool thoughts being sent your way!!

I was thinking about you... just after you left Sydney it became nice :) I mean, it's not raining and about 28 degrees everyday, which is perfect to me because I can swim in it and it's cool enough to sleep without a fan at night.

Both Adelaide and Melbourne are suffering... OMG I don't envy you guys!!! Thankfully you have air-conditioning, yes? How's Gracie coping? I think of poor her when you're at work and it's hot...

I hope you guys see some relief soon. I remember back in highschool, I used to camp out in the lounge where the air cond was when it was like in the 40s for 2 weeks! I hope it gets cooler though...

I felt smug with my 29 degrees in Perth. Because a few weeks ago we were suffering the terrible 40's (up to about 42, I think), for about 2 weeks running. IT WAS HELL. So I feel your pain! ....except up until 45. THAT IS INSANE.

In a funny story, the night I first arrived in Australia (from South Africa), it was 9pm and about 40 degrees. Coming from a country where 34 is a heatwave, coupled with Australia's humidity, we got off the plane and COULD NOT BREATHE. Fun, all around!

I'll happily trade you. It's only 12 degrees Fahrenheit here right now. And snowing like crazy.

Woohoo for Illinois, USA in the winter. I miss the warm.

My world is covered in a half inch of ice right now.

I'll have some of that.

It's seriously fucked up when it's that hot that early!

I wish I worked in the frozen food section of Coles!

Don't torment us with talk of ice. That's just cruel :(

Hooooooooooooooly shit. Please don't melt!

Can we share? I'll take some of your hot weather, and you can have some of our cold weather. Between us we ought to be able to average things out. :D

But, yeah, that's crazy hot! I hope you have a cool spot to chill (literally!). :D

I bumped into a Canadian the other day, who said something very similar. She claimed that "her Canadian blood just doesn't understand temperatures like that"!

I don't think that even my Australian blood understands temperatures THAT HOT though!

Exactly! That temperatures is just WRONG! Overnight, it hasn't been dropping below about the mid 30s. I'm just so thankful that I have air conditioning.

Most of the weather we had in Sydney was great. It was too hot when we arrived, but that only lasted till the evening, and then it was mid-twenties for the rest of the trip. It's a shame that it was rainy on Australia Day, but I'd prefer that to the excessive heat! It was a nice trip! :)

Anyway, yes, I have air conditioning. Thank GOD for that! I'm really lucky that my parents are retired, so they'll come and pick up Gracey when it really hot, and she can relax in their air conditioning!

I'm headed to the Big Day Out today - it's FAR TOO HOT for that!

Ohh, 29 degrees would be awesome! We've actually been pretty lucky this summer, because there hasn't really been any hot weather until a few days ago. And now it's almost February, so at least we have the end of summer in the not-too-distant future!

[identity profile] kaaatie.livejournal.com 2009-01-30 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
Yes! Please - let's swap! Or maybe we could average out the temperatures, and then we'd both be comfortable!

I'm so jealous! (Of course, if I had your weather, I'd probably be complaining even more about the cold!!)

Yeah, I can handle heat during the day, but it's awful when it never drops below about 35 degrees. Everything gets so HOT!

I'm just so happy that I have air conditioning. I officially love the person who invented air conditioning!

[identity profile] kaaatie.livejournal.com 2009-01-30 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
That's an excellent idea! If we averaged the temperature, it'd be nice and comfortable for both of us!

:)

i melted days ago. our little aircon just isn't standing up to the heat. we have to keep turning it on for an hour & off for an hour or else it rains.

Damn! It's like that, here! We were having over 40ºC every single day for a week. Even at night, is not less than 28ºC. I can't sleep, I'm exhausted, and, as the cherry on the top? we're having problems with our water supply *headdesk*
We aren't supposed to have more than 27/28ºC in summer, and, therefore, we aren't prepared to it. Meaning, no AC :(
Damn! I was so desperate yesterday that I seriously thought about use the money for my new Pc in an AC *facepalms*
Thanks God today it was a lot better

[identity profile] johnsheppardluv.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
now now now katie don't be selfish! shove some of that heat up here, will you?! cuz it's like 0 degrees celsius up here! :( and it's not even snowing here either! wtf! ~your pal, Sharma the Virginian

It's FINALLY cooler!! YAY!! :)
ext_19751: Due South: Fraser - white background (Default)

[identity profile] kaaatie.livejournal.com 2009-02-08 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
We FINALLY have some cooler weather. For the last couple of weeks, it's been about 40 degrees almost every day (with a couple of days in the high 30s). I'm so glad that it's over for a while.

I hope that you're not still suffering. I don't know how people can survive those temperatures without AC.

Hee, if only we could! I would have happily given you about 15 degrees of our temperature! At least it's now finally a bit cooler here. A change came through last night, and it's now only 24 degrees celsius. Perfect!
