This week
advent_atlantis is all about "Rodney McKay: Sex God". Since this is a topic close to my heart, an icon post was obviously required! So, here's my iconic tribute to Rodney!
I must add - pictures really don't do him justice! And what is it that I love about him? His eyes, his shoulders, his crooked mouth, his sarcasm, his vulnerability, his arrogance ... I could go on ... "But still I digress, where was I...uh, leadership!" ... no, icons! Enjoy! (If you like them, help yourself - I'd love to hear what people think!)

Date: 2006-04-16 03:45 pm (UTC)I love those mini movie icons! As for how to make them... You can insert an actual movie clip using image ready (or probably other animation programs) like in this tutorial. (http://community.livejournal.com/icon_tutorial/375897.html)
I made #13 the long way though - I took 11 screencaps of that scene, then pasted each of them onto the larger pic. I saved them all separately, then dragged them onto one picture (so each of the 11 pictures was a separate layer). I then used the "make frames from the layers" button (on the animation toolbar), then animated each for 0.1sec. Then I saved it as a .gif in ImageReady. (That sounds complex, but its not too hard! Let me know if you want better instructions!)
(Sorry that you got this comment twice, but I stuffed up the link the first time!)

Date: 2006-04-17 12:55 am (UTC)- Go to 'manage' and 'userpics'
- Click on the 'browse' button and find the icon you want to upload
- In the keywords section, type any sort of description that you want
- In the comments section, type something like: Made by <*lj user *= "_wwsd_"*> (remove the *)
- Click proceed
Simple as that! Hopefully that made sense! And again, glad you like the icon!

Date: 2006-04-24 02:13 pm (UTC)I love those mini movie icons. I use photoshop and "image ready", which comes with photoshop.
There are a couple of ways to make them - apparently you can just insert an actual movie clip like in this tutorial (http://community.livejournal.com/icon_tutorial/375897.html) - I've never tried that so I'm not sure how hard it is.
I made #13 by taking 11 screencaps of that scene... I chose the shot of David that I wanted for the larger picture in the icon, and then I just pasted each of the 11 screencaps onto the larger pic.
So I had 11 seperate images, (each had that larger picture and a shot of the scene in the corner).
