Armageddon Expo - Post 6 (Videos)

I've uploaded the videos that I took at the Armageddon Expo last weekend. There are three clips from David Hewlett's panel, and three from Kavan Smith's panel. All files are .avi.
- David Hewlett on the cancellation of Atlantis
David gives his thoughts on the cancellation of Atlantis. (And talks about Stargate 90210!!) During this, the guy in front of me is fascinated by the fact that he can see his hand in the big screen, so he starts making hand puppet sort of things in front of my camera. It's pretty annoying, but still worth watching to see David.
Mediafire Link (~16mb | 1 min, 20 secs)
- About 20 minutes of David Hewlett's panel:
This section starts with David responding to a question about when a region 4 version of "A Dog's Breakfast" will be released. There are also a bunch of other questions, and David is absolutely hilarious through it. I've seen standup comedy with less laughter --- the crowd was loving every second.
Megaupload Link (~275mb | 20 mins and 20 secs)
OR in four parts on mediafire (The files below are the SAME as the megaupload link above. It's the same file split rather than in one big .avi)
Part 1 (~55mb)
Part 2 (~72mb)
Part 3 (~72mb)
Part 4 (~80mb)
- David Hewlett is given vegemite:
The poor thing is forced to try vegemite on stage. Ewww!
Mediafire Link (~19mb | 1 min, 30 secs)
- About 5 minutes of Kavan Smith's panel:
Through most of this, Kavan talks about the SGA cast. It's very entertaining!
Mediafire Link (~56mb | 4 mins, 45 secs)
- Kavan Smith doing a wraith impression:
This is a VERY short clip of Kavan doing his impression of a wraith.
Mediafire Link (~2mb | 8 secs)
- Kavan Smith doing an impression of Joe Flanigan:
This is Kavan showing how Joe looks when fixing his hair!!
Mediarefire Link (~5mb | 23 secs)
If you download any of these, I'd love a comment. Partly because it's nice for people to say thanks, but mostly because I'd love to hear what you think, and would love to squee about David and Kavan with you!!
Also, these are only sections of the panels. If you're interested, the dvd should be available to purchase from here soon (and that'll include the whole thing of all of the panels ... and other stuff too).
Also, a question: To those of you who've had your photo taken with stars, what have you done with them? Are they just sitting in a box somewhere, or in an album, or have you put them on the wall? I'm trying to decide whether to put mine up...

Date: 2008-11-06 10:19 am (UTC)thanks for posting the vids! :-)
I was rather surprised that videoing seemed to be freely allowed-unusual for a con, I thought! (David even joked about it at one point...hehe.)
Had I known, I would have brought along my real video camera, rather than trying to use the 'video' function on my camera... :-p

Date: 2008-11-07 10:48 am (UTC)I was surprised (but happy) that they weren't trying to stop the filming too.
I just read the report on your journal - it sounds like you had a great time too! :)

Date: 2008-11-06 10:30 am (UTC)I've had some photos taken with stars. Some I have framed and they are sitting on the bookshelves. Others are in a special photo album. Of course, I went to conventions for over 40 years...so I have quite a few photos! LOL!
So wish I could still go to conventions, especially to either Australia or New Zealand. Those are two countries I always wanted to vist.
Best wishes and thanks again!

Date: 2008-11-07 11:06 am (UTC)I had my photo taken with Joe Flanigan last year, and it's just sat on a bookshelf all year. Now that I also have Kavan and David photos to join the collection, I definitely want to put them in a frame or an album. :)
I hope you manage to make it to Australia and New Zealand one day.
Thanks for commenting. :)

Date: 2008-11-07 11:09 am (UTC)I like the idea of a nice photo album on the coffee table. I think I might do that too!

Date: 2008-11-06 02:35 pm (UTC)I'll be downloading the vids you have of David. He's such a good storyteller.
I have a picture of Amanda and me, and it's framed and sitting right here on my desk. Right next to my autographed RDA picture.

Date: 2008-11-07 11:12 am (UTC)Yeah, David's extremely entertaining.
Oooh, I'd love to meet RDA! Apparently Amanda Tapping will be coming to the Armageddon Expo next year, and I'm hoping to meet her. :)

Date: 2008-11-06 03:13 pm (UTC)He looks much more relaxed in those conventions than in "official" conventions, like he has a bit more of freedom. That's sooo great ! *dies of admiration for the guy*

Date: 2008-11-07 11:13 am (UTC)Yeah, David really seemed to be enjoying himself all weekend. He had the crowd in the palm of his hand. He was so entertaining and lovely!!

Date: 2008-11-06 05:45 pm (UTC)To those of you who've had your photo taken with stars, what have you done with them?
I have them in an album. The only things I will put on the wall are the autographs I have

Mine's going on my wall (I have it sitting on top of the frame at the moment because...I don't know why;) But, yes, on the wall.

Date: 2008-11-07 11:23 am (UTC)I think the picture of David and I will have to go on my fridge, and then the rest in an album. :)

Date: 2008-11-07 10:04 pm (UTC)I've had my photo taken with a number of celebrities, mostly from Joss Whedon shows (it seems much more personal and memorable to me than getting something autographed). Most are just in albums, but I have my photo with Alyson Hannigan framed and hanging on a wall.

Date: 2008-11-10 11:11 am (UTC)Aww, that's awesome that you met Alyson Hannigan. :)

Date: 2008-11-08 04:01 pm (UTC)I'm meeting Kavan next year at P4 and these are just what I need to get more nervous. LOL
I meet Steve Bacic and Corin Nemic 2006 and Steve pulled out the duck tape.... I just can't hide that pic. LMAO!
So I have all mine on the wall over my computer.

Date: 2008-11-10 11:25 am (UTC)Kavan is lovely, so I'm sure you'll enjoy meeting them.
Hee, that's great! :)

Date: 2008-11-11 05:19 pm (UTC)so, i'm so glad and grateful and happy that you decided to share ALLLL of these totally awesome clips with us! :) and, just so you know, i got just the big MU/275 MB david chunk (instead of the 4 pieces of it), the vegemite clip (of course...lol), and all 3 clips of the kavan-ster (the 5 min panel chunk, the joe impression (lol!), and the wraith impression). so - thanks again so much, katie - and you definitely are always gonna rock major sox in my book! :);):)
as for where to put your pics? i think album or wall is best. (in a box would be too dusty) so - choose album if you want to protect it, or wall if you (want to) stare...erm...look (*grin*) at them every day when you come home or wake up in the morning.
if you DO pick wall tho, may i sugeest a spot either above your bed or straight across the room from your bed. that way kavsn and you and david and you are the first things you see each morning, which means you start your daily life in a good mood. ;) how's that sound?

Sharma :)
