Day 6 of the "things that make me happy" meme:

+ I'm still LOVING my new found Hard Core Logo obsession, and have been reading excerpts from Hard Core Roadshow: A Screenwriter's Diary (*).
+ I went out for yummy Indian food with some good friends.
+ We had Christmas crackers, and I got another bad joke that I found far too funny! (**)
+ My dad came over and mowed my grass this morning.
+ I got a Christmas card in the mail from [personal profile] sgflutegirl. Thanks hon! *hugs*
+ I found my left over Christmas wrapping paper from last year. (***)
+ I received a message from one of my US tour buddies. Another person from our tour is coming to Adelaide, so a few of us are going to catch up. Should be fun!
+ Tomorrow is my last day of work for the year!

(*) It's an incredibly interesting book. The screenwriter, Noel, seems to be a complete tool. He appears to have a fangirlish crush on Hugh Dillon (which is fine --- I mean, who doesn't!!), but he also seems to have a strange hate for Callum, and makes little bitchy comments against him. It seems like he's jealous of the friendship between Hugh and Callum; it's fascinating that he either doesn't realise or doesn't care that he's showing himself in such poor light in his own book. But maybe I'm just over-analysing the whole thing!

I must add that this movie has killed my productivity! For the last few days, my brain has spent at least 60% of the time thinking about that movie and those characters and actors. It's all so fascinating!

(**) What do you call a man with a paper bag on his head?
Russell.

(***) Usually I put it "somewhere safe", and then can't remember where until a few days after Christmas!

Well, I was going to just zip the HCL soundtrack for you, but then there was the tribute album, and then the Headstones in general, which leads to the HDRC...so I just zipped it all :P

Mmm for yummy Indian food.

Usually I put it "somewhere safe", and then can't remember where until a few days after Christmas! Ha! I've done that a couple of times with gifts. Especially when trying to hide it from my mom.

My mum has done that with gifts too! This year, she was almost certain that she'd thrown out a few books for my dad. Luckily, she eventually found them!!

you're totally right about the author of hardcore roadshow - he makes himself sound like an ass - but also, that book launched 1,000 hugh/callum rps fics.

the book the movie is based on is also good if you're interested...

Yeah, there were a few passages where those two definitely sounded ... comfortable together. I usually avoid rps, but I think I might have to read some!!

And yep, I've been thinking about ordering the book too. :)

Well I am a member of a few communities that have fic, but I'd love to hear which ones are your favourites! :)

Seriously!!!! Two local fangirls "made" me watch Hard Core Logo, and when that bit was over I asked "Can we just see that again?". They cracked up and were all "We never watch that scene just the once!".

I haven't read that much HCL fic, but will try to find you links to the ones I've liked. Are you interested in Hugh/Callum stuff? There's a great, long AU that I *highly* recommend. It's well-written, plotty, funny & porny. ;)

Heehee! I've rewinded to watch that scene again too!

I usually avoid rps, but after reading some extracts of Hard Core Roadshow, I can definitely see it between those two. So yes, I'd love to see your Hugh/Callum recs! :)

*raises hand diffidently* [livejournal.com profile] morebliss asked me to add you to my RPS filter, so I have. No need to friend me back if you don't want, and if you want to be removed, just say and I'll do so forthwith. (I read my flist on a filter, so it's no trouble either way.)

P.S. ITA with your reactions to Hard Core Roadshow. Noel is a dink. :-)

Great! Thanks for that. I'm looking forward to reading your stuff. I've only recently discovered Hard Core Logo, and I'm currently loving anything and everything associated with it!

PS Yep, definitely a dink!

My RPS index (or sindex) is here. And the AU MB was talking about starts here. Just mentioning these because I completely fail at tagging. :-)

Thanks for the links. I just read the first one in the list (Play Pretend) and I loved it. It felt very real... very Callum. :)

Thanks! :-) (Um, the few after that are a bit iffy because I was still figuring out the distinction between Callum and Billy, Hugh and Joe. So... it gets better again? /dork)
