More love for HCL

I'm currently watching Hard Core Logo with the commentary. I could not possibly love Hugh anymore than I do right now. I love listening to him get so excited about certain parts in the movie. He's completely adorable. And I love his voice so much. I also adore that he seems unable to go for more than about 5 minutes without mentioning how great Callum is. *hearts them both*

I love that Hugh gave Callum the Headstones ring and that Callum keeps coming to Hugh's concerts as moral support through his drug recovery. It's just lovely, truly.

Do you happen to know when they first met? I've just finished reading Hard Core Roadshow (the screenwriter's diary) and it certainly implies that they were incredibly close and BFF-ish after only a few days.

I've been wondering whether they did become such close friends so quickly, or whether they met a lot earlier than Noel realised.

HCL made their relationship. They did Curtis' Charm the same year as HCL and both films were released in October 1996, but I'm pretty sure Hard Core Logo was filmed and then they carried that over to Curtis' Charm and not the other way around. It was a friendship destined to be (and I love, love, love how they became friends almost immediately).

Yes! He was just so genuinely excited during that part. I loved it. Hugh enthusiasm is so infectious; I couldn't stop grinning at his happiness!

I also just finished reading Hard Core Roadshow, so it was great to hear Hugh telling Noel to shut up. :)
