Back when it first aired, I loved Due South. I loved it.

A couple of years ago, I bought the first season, and to be honest, it didn't live up to my memories. Last year, I got the other seasons, and discovered that most of my great memories were of Kowalski, which is why the first season didn't reach my expectations. I've been watching season 3 and 4 over and over again, and I love it just as much now as I did back in the day.

But anyway, I recently decided that I should re-watch the first season again. Although it still didn't reach the levels of love that I have for CKR's Ray, I liked it a lot more this time around. However, I just watched the final episodes of season 1. That was great television. Victoria's Secret (episodes 1x20 and 1x21) were amazing. Paul Gross completely blew me away with his amazing acting (and hotness), and Ray and Fraser both broke my heart a couple of times. So. Much. Love. :)

it's funny, I just watched part of the first season, and didn't like it at all...so I skipped ahead and have seen half of season 3...and I'm still not thrilled :( season 3 is better than season 1, but it's really not my thing...Frasier is too weird, and Ray is too hyper, for me LOL

to each his own!

It is a weird show, but I love it. :)

At least we both agree that David Hewlett is awesome!

I always thought seasons one and two were generally superior television-wise... but Ray Kowalski makes up for the change in tone in the latter seasons. *hearts him*

Yeah, there were a lot of excellent episodes in the first seasons.

Basically, I think that most of what I remembered of it boiled down to "the show with the cute mountie and the hot cop". When I first re-watched Ray V, rather than noticing his great qualities, I was just disappointed that he wasn't Ray K. This time around, I've remembered just how much I loved Ray V too.

*hearts them all* :)

I adore Seasons 1 and 2 in a completely different way to which I adore Seasons 3 and 4.

Aww, I had the exact opposite experience.
I grew up watching Ray V and had even said I would NEVER watch Ray K. Yeah.
When I decided to break down and watch Ray K, I was determined not to like him. Eventually I got over that and really warmed up to the guy. The main thing that helped was the plot about Ray V leaving. I thought they were just going to replace him in a weird way, but it was great, odd sure, but great.

Now, I love Ray K. Don't get me wrong, Ray V will always be my favorite character, but I love K a lot now... and he's changed the way I say car. :)

I remember enjoying it during season 1 and 2, but over the years, I forgot about most of the details, and basically just remembered having a big crush on Fraser and Ray K. (Yep, I'm often quite shallow!)

Now that I've re-watched season 1 again, I've remembered all of the reasons that I loved Ray V too. He's a real sweetie, and has some of the funniest lines. :)

I watched Due South as it was airing as well. Although, I've got to say, I think I had kind of the opposite reaction. I watched season 1 and was reminded just how awesome the show was, and continued to love it until Ray K came on. I have never really given the Ray K years to close of a rewatch and I really mean to one day, because fandom is so in love with him, I obviously gave up too soon. But I really do love Ray V.

*nods* Ray V is awesome. Basically, I don't think that I gave him a proper chance the first time that I rewatched the season 1. This time around, I've noticed his great qualities, and I'm happy to say that I really love them both now. :)

(And yes, you should rewatch the Ray K episodes. He's pretty awesome!)

I've only seen a couple of episodes with RayK but enjoyed all of them. I need to just buy them and sit down and watch.

Ray K is completely adorkable, and I love him for it. And Fraser is hilariously dorky too. *hugs them both*

I remember watching this when it was on tv and couldn't stand the first two seasons. In fact I stopped watching it and went to my room to listen to music/read/wash my hair whatever. But then one day I sat down and discovered (mid-way through season three) the awesomeness that is Ray K.
That love has never went away, it also instilled a deep love of CKR in me, as he was the second guy on my wall. The first being the dude from Forever Knight.

*nods* Ray K is awesome. He has that dorkiness that I find irrestible! Plus, CKR is incredibly sexy. :)
