Should I buy a Wii?

I'm thinking about buying a Nintendo Wii. I certainly don't need one, and I worry that I might get bored of it after only a few weeks. Also, I probably shouldn't spend the money... but I still kinda want to.

[Poll #1362714]

To the Aussies on my friendslist, what's a good price to pay? Kmart has a sale at the moment, and you can get the console, with a nanchuck, a remote, and three games (Wii Sports, Wii Music, and TV Show King Party or Fun Fair Party) for $399. But then I'd have to buy at least another nanchuck thingo, and I really want Wii Fit... which is another $124.

Hmmm... to be responsible or not to be responsible? That is the question.

dammit i just wrote a long post but my connection wigged out and didn't send it :\

anyway, i'm all for you getting the wii... but instead of the bundle from kmart i think you should get the set on offer at jb... it's the same deal, same price, but instead of wii music and the wii party game you get animal crossing. animal crossing is the game that i've been playing for around 6 months now... since it was released... and i'm nowhere near bored with it. it's a good game to play for a little bit each day (30 minutes or so), and isn't at all demanding... i can't really explain it so you should look it up and check it out :) i used to have it on my ds and i played it to death, and i'm still loving it on the wii... whereas the two games in the kmart bundle have received fairly mediocre reviews and don't look too good, especially for a long term prospect.

so heed my advice, young one :P get the animal crossing bundle and just play it by yourself for a while... both animal crossing and wii fit are perfect for that, and you'll certainly get your moneys worth with just those two games... and then at a later date you can get more controllers and games should you want to play with friends :) so yes, lovely games, not too demanding of your time, and you'll have lots of fun :D

I bought one! I ended up getting a better deal. They didn't have any of the Wii Music in stock, so I got Mario Party 8 instead. As you said, the reviews for it were pretty mediocre, and the Mario game looks like fun, so I'm happy with that!

I think I remember playing Animal Crossing... and it was fun. *shrugs* Maybe I'll get that another day.
