Supernatural Convention

As some of you know, I spent last weekend in Sydney at a Supernatural Convention. It was such an amazing weekend! This is probably going to be one of those times when I ramble my words won't do justice to the awesomeness of the experience, but I'll do my best.

Before I get into it, I must start by thanking my awesome LJ buddies for helping to make it such a great weekend. You guys rock! *hugs*

I was going to try to make this a blow-by-blow account, but I don't think I have the memory, and I've already seen some pretty good accounts of what happened, so instead I'm just going to do the random dot point thing, and I'll list some stuff. (There is no real order or structure to this; it's literally just random points that come to mind.)

- I had a photo with Misha! He was very friendly and nice, and had his arm around my waist!

- I adored Misha in his talk. He comes across as quite sarcastic and self deprecating, and I found it completely hilarious.

- In Misha's talk, ponies came up a lot and he talked about his mythical pony cronies! It was implied that Castiel is a bit of a wuss, and Misha joked about how you can shoot him and stab him and he'll be fine, but punch him, and he falls to the floor. He joked that he is often protected by invisible ponies, but when they're not there, he's useless!

- Someone asked Misha a question about God, and indicated that SPN proves he exists. Misha said that hadn't been proven on the show. He said "Maybe he was so disappointed by his creation that he jumped off a cloud". *laughs*

- Jared is completely adorable. He joked around a lot, and played in his chair like a 12 year old boy!

- The boys experienced Fantales (an incredibly chewy caramel lolly covered in chocolate). Jared quickly discovered that it's very difficult to talk after eating one, but that didn't stop him from trying (on more than one occasion).

- Jensen has the most gorgeous eyes. They look lovely in photos, but when he looks into your eyes, they're even more amazing!

- I asked a question! (My first time at one of these things!) I asked Misha a question about his appearance on Nip/Tuck. For those of you who haven't seen it, he plays a character with a very large... appendage, who wants a penile reduction because he's obsessed with sucking himself off. So I said something like: "I saw your recent appearance on Nip/Tuck and you had a very... interesting role. Can you tell us about that? Did you manage to do THAT scene in one take?" He spent a while talking about it. It was quite amusing! Apparently he lied and claimed that he did yoga every day in order to get the role, so he could hardly walk afterwards. And he made a hilarious comment about what it's like to see your balls that close up!

- Funny t-shirt: "And then Buffy staked Edward. The End."

- Jensen was very entertaining, and I just love his voice! Like Misha, he has a very sarcastic sort of humour. I laughed so much!

- The Sunday talk with Jensen and Jared was hilarious. They were both very tired, and Jensen seemed to get more sarcastic, whilst Jared became more of a crazy big kid. He was pretty much bouncing around the stage, and had fun pretending to have a hissyfit each time someone asked Jensen a question.

- Misha joined them on stage at the end! He was there to help auction off a couple of t-shirts for charity (the prices for those things was huge!), but pretty much sat around, looking amusing by Jared and Jensen, whilst making the occasional funny comment. (He enjoyed reminding people that the actual value of the t-shirt was $5. And he made an amusing comment about how it's "only Australian dollars".)

- Jared had a (joking) bitch at Misha for stealing his pose (the one with his arm stretched out).

- Watching SPN episodes in a room with over 1000 fangirls is hilarious and so much fun!

- Watching that clip of Eye of the Tiger is even more fun. The screams and yells during that thing were incredible!

- I was actually impressed by how (mostly) sane most of the fans were. I must admit that I was expecting more uncontrollable teenagers. There was a lot of screaming, and a few questions that I didn't like, but most people were very well behaved.

- I loved the way that the three guys all dealt with questions that they didn't want to answer. There were a few questions that you could tell they didn't like, but they did a great job to deflecting. I also like that there was often an undertone of "you're a tool", but it was done in an amusing way, without being rude.

- Jensen quoted Team America (at least, I think that's what he was quoting). He was a asked how he makes himself cry, and he said "I just think about the saddest moment in my life" Then I think he sort of laughed, apologised, and said that's a quote from a favourite movie.

- Misha can cook! He said that he can use a near empty fridge to make a good meal. *hearts him*

- Misha gave an amusing response to a question about which one of Castiel's powers he would like to have. He'd like the power to be able to turn door knobs from a distance, or the power to turn off car alarms. I completely adore his sense of humour.

I'm sure that I've forgotten a lot of stuff, and as soon as I post this I'm probably going to remember about a hundred other things, but I'll still leave it there for now.

In conclusion, Misha, Jared and Jensen are all awesome.

Sheesh, that sounded like an amazing time. I would have loved to have seen that/been there.

Jensen's accent is VERY Dallas. We seem to have our own, lol.

And OMG! That shirt!!!! How bad to I want it? Let me count the ways! Seriously though, love the Edward from the book, but can't stand the guy that plays him in the movie. If the shirt had a picture of Robert Pattison (as Edward) being staked by Buffy, it would be the most perfect shirt ever! *L*

It was awesome! They were all so funny and entertaining.

I've had a quick look, and I think that I've found a couple of screencaps that'll work. I'm going to (try to) make the t-shirt for you!! :)

Yay! Awesome question! They all seem like so much fun - all in their own way. The three of them make a very good (or evil) team. *g*

Glad you had such a good time!

I know that Jinx sell the t-shirt, but the link isn't working for me now. I'm sure you probably googled and found it. :)
