SPAM!!

I found this on a few other journals - I find it incredibly funny for some reason, so I just had to post it here, just to see how many I'll get!!

Give me 1000 comments in this entry. Or whatever, really. YOU, in particular, don't have to supply the whole 1000, but a tiny contribution would be nice.

This is your chance to spam me with anything. Then post this in your journal and I'll return the favour.

EDIT: 196 comments! 323 comments now!! You guys rock! I love my friendslist *group hugs*

i've been ripping some of my CDs lately. some of them i haven't played for years (MP3s are so much easier). some of them have such strong memories attached to them. i remember when and where i got them and how it felt to listen to them for the first time. today i ripped the verve's urban hymns. i was watching tv with my sister when the video for bitter sweet symphony came up. i was transfixed. it was an unexpected success story here, so when i went through the stores in jerusalem, store by store, none of them had any copies left. except for one store, the guy had the cd playing when i walked in. i was desperate and i took the one he was using. then there is the lucky man CD single i got at the virgin mega store in san francisco. the first richard ashcroft solo CD i got at a used CDs store in camden, 2002. i have hundreds of CDs, i can't believe i remember this stuff. and deserter's songs by mercury rev, the perfect album to play for someone who's heart's been broken, soothing them so they can sleep. i remember giving it to my sister after she broke up with her BF. the sugarcubes' collection CD, tower records at the mall, my mom bought it for my birthday along with a pogues CD. i wonder if for each CD i have i can remember.

*nods* A lot of songs bring back a 'sound memory' for me too. I was recently looking through my music collection for some songs that I plan on uploading. There were a few songs that I overplayed a lot whilst at school, and listening to them again now just bought back so many memories.

Bitter sweet symphony is one that I played far too much, until I was sick of it, but when I hear it again now it makes me immediately smile! :D

Arrrgghhh! What an awful choice! Ummm... are you sure death isn't an option!?!? Probably George Bush --- maybe I could use incriminating evidence of his infidelity to get him to stop being such a complete tool.

ext_19751: Due South: Fraser - white background (Default)

[identity profile] kaaatie.livejournal.com 2006-11-15 10:44 am (UTC)(link)
Heehee! I try to avoid that place, because I'm all about the happy side of fandom, but there really are some wankers around. I think that the world would be a better place if everyone just thought about what Mckay would say before they did something. That's one of the reasons why I love him --- he's so damn honest. Some people really need to be told that what they're talking about is complete bollocks, and that they really need to get over themselves. I'm not talking about anything specific here --- it's just one of those things, that if you hang around in fandom for long enough your bound to come across some fandom wank. Fandom would be such a great place without all of the wank.

Yay! You did a xmas list! I will definitely help you out with some of those. I really like that xmas list thing --- I have been so cynical about Christmas for the last few years, so I really plan on trying to give a lot to spread the Christmas joy. Even if I can't find it too much myself, it'll be nice to see other people happy. :)

Thanks!

I have decided that I definitely need a webhost thingo. I am so sick of uploading stuff to free hosting places, and then it expires after a couple of weeks, and I have to upload it again. It'll be so much better to be able to upload to a more permanent webspace thingo.

Plus, I go a payrise today, so I can afford it!! I have had three payrises since I started this job, and that was less than a year ago! I love it! :D

I was a big fan of the band LiVE for a long time. The singer used to mesh that song into one of theirs --- I just loved it so much --- he did it really well, but I can't for the life of me think which song it was! I'm sure I have a bootleg with him doing it lying around somewhere! :)

This'll be 786!! YAY!!

So... a question for you... I'm making a John Sheppard fanmix. I am trying to make it completely pairing free, which is harder than you might think!

When I make a fanmix I tend to go through my list, and get a whole heap of songs that 'might work', and then I refine it. I'm still in the retrieving songs stage at the moment,... but I seem to be getting 2 completely different sorts of songs. There are the relaxed 'John is just an easy-going happy sort of guy' songs, and then there are the more reflective, 'John actually has lots of issues' songs.

Do you think John is more easy going and relaxed?? Or do you think that he actually has a lot of issues, and isn't really that happy underneath all of the 'facade'??? I'm beginnning to think I might have to do it as a two part mix --- with the reflective and the easy going halves.
