just one thing i'll pick on - have you played around with feathering? it basically creates a softer edge to make one pic blend in better with another. you can use it around the hairline.

When I see it again this morning I can see a few flaws - you're right that I should have done more feathering or bluring around the edges... I basically just quickly put it together for a joke, but it would look better if I spent a little while longer just fixing it up... I still think it looks alright for a bit of fun though! :D

oh yes it does look great! i didn't really notice it until i saw the big pic under the cut, and also because i've done lots of photoshop work for uni and work over the years.

i must bow down to all you self-taught clever artistic ones though!
