Oh wow! Now that I think about it Sam is so good for Lizzie. The tension between Sam and Rodney is quite similar to the tension between Lizzy and Darcy ...

And John as Bingley works for me too. John comes across in a "Bingley sort of way" when you first meet him --- he's very easy-going, flirty and happy - and although John seems to have more hidden depths than Bingley, the role still matches.

I can also see Teyla as Jane - She's not incredibly smart from an academic perspective, but she's a lot wiser than you'd first think, and she's very sweet and kind.

And the relationship between John and Rodney does have a lot of similarities to the relationship between Bingley and Darcy... I think someone needs to write this! :D
