I watched Last Night last night, and I really enjoyed it. When you're obsessed enough to watch everything that your favourite actors have been in, you regularly come across some great movies. For example, if not for my "thing" for CKR, I'd never have experienced Wilby Wonderful, Hard Core Logo or Last Night. Does anyone recommend any other Callum movies?

Last Night is a movie about what a bunch of people do on their last night on Earth, when they've known for months that the world is going to end.

It reminded me a little of 200 Cigarettes, which is about what a bunch of people do on a New Years Eve. In the same way as Last Night, there are multiple story lines that connect in various ways throughout the movie. I usually really like movies and TV shows that do that.

So anyway, it was a very good movie. Sandra Oh was brilliant, Don McKeller did a great job, and Callum Keith Rennie got nekkid!

Callum's character was pretty hilarious; he spent his last couple of months compiling a comprehensive list of all of his sexual fantasies, and he spent his last months on Earth attempting to make his way through the list!

In other news, I've hurt my foot, and I'm currently limping everywhere. And I have to go back to work tomorrow. :( These holidays have gone far far too quickly. On the plus side, I only have 15 work days till I have another week off!

I looove Last Night! It's one of the reasons I'm so much in awe for Don McKellar (the others being Twitch City and him being Darren Nichols in Slings & Arrows). I adore this man. ♥

The kitchen was awesome, wasn't it? Creepy and awesome at the same time.
And I loved all these awkward moments there were between Craig and his different partners. (Also, the kiss!^^)
Also, he's got the saddest line in the whole film.

Speaking of Don, did you like Bindness? I liked that the Paul Gross Acting Troupe were in it, but I felt like Don could have written it a bit better.

To be honest I haven't watched it yet. I have this quirk that if a film is based on a book I want to read the book first, and right now I'm only half way through the novel.^^;

Twitch City and Slings and Arrows are both on my list of things to watch too.

Yep, I loved that scene in his kitchen. He was so proud of his accomplishment! And yeah, I loved the pre-bedroom moments with his partners. I loved the way he asked them, "Can I get you a drink? I have drinks".

Which line is the saddest?

When Patrick walks out of the door and automatically says "See you later", and Craig answers totally calm and matter-of-fact-like: "No you won't".
That was the only time during the film where I felt a sting in my stomache - which is astonishing if you bring yourself to mind that it is a film about the end of the world.

Ahh, yes. That line is very sad. And Callum played it very well.

I've found a lot of interesting movies by following the careers of various actors. I've found I have a fondness for Canadian indie films that way.

Yeah, there are lots of great indie Canadian films that I would never have discovered. There are some great ones that I've seen by following David Hewlett's career too.

There's a movie coming up sometime soon called "Smile of April" that will have a lot of Stargate folks in it.

I know Torri Higgenson, Peter DeLuise and Anne-Marie Loder (PDL's wife, who was in a couple of SG-1 eps) will be in it. I want to see it just to see them in something else and a good plot will be an extra.

Also want to see some of the stuff Hewlett's got cooking in his head. Just some of the tidbits mentioned have me going o.0

Have you been watching the series Flashpoint? No CKR, but Hugh Dillon just pwns his scenes.

Purple Toast and Frank's Cock are great underground short films (anyone in the DS comms should be able to hook you up)

I thought Masterminds was a fun, fun movie...it's typical light fare (plus, Ollie is HOT)

Men with Guns is, um, hard to watch, but his character's aptly psychotic.

Suspicious River is VERY hard to watch, but it's brilliant...plus, Don S. Davis and Michael Shanks are in it :)

David Hewlett's movie The Life Before This has both CKR and Mrs. Paul Gross :P

Flower & Garnet and Falling Angels tend to blend together for me because they have the same feel, but both are fantastic.

And speaking of Callum, you should watch his season of Californication (this season).

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll be sure to add them to my list! Callum does play the psychotics well, doesn't he!? :)

Huh! I didn't realise that CKR was in The Life Before This. I have that movie, but I'll have to watch it again!

I did see him in one episode of Californication. He's still hot!

Callum appears briefly in Snowcake (a total of about 5 minutes, but he broke my heart) with Alan Rickman and Sigourney Weaver, and Whole New Thing, both of which are excellent movies. I had to watch the last half hour of WNT between my fingers, but that was 'cause of my issues. *g*

Also, Hugh Dillon has a large role in Down to the Bone, which is bleak and weird and good, and he is excellent in it.

ETA: Sorry to hear about your foot! And the return to work (I have to go back today, woe!).

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm really enjoying making my way through all of Callum's appearances. He certainly is a quality actor.

I'll have to check out Down to the Bone too. Since watching Hard Core Logo, I've developed quite a "thing" for Hugh too!

Thanks! The first day back at work wasn't too bad, and I think my foot is starting to get better.

Sounds interesting. I'll have to add this (and the other two you mentioned) to my list.
