Do you just take a million caps of an ep and then sort through and find your icon crops or when you cap do you already know what you are going to use?
Inquiring minds want to know.
Now I feel the urge to start capping and icon-ing. I just got my dvds thursday I have watched Echoes and Tao of Rodney... twice. ;)

Date: 2007-09-25 11:34 am (UTC)To answer your question, I have many many many caps, and then just look through the folder until I find a picture that I think will look good. A lot of the ones from that batch were from the episode promo shots --- they're quite easy to work with because they're good resolution and quality.
The season 3 dvds are released here in Australia tomorrow - I can't wait to get mine!! :)

I used the textures in the third icon in this tutorial page (http://community.livejournal.com/zocat_icons/10870.html) for some of them (I find that you always have to change things quite a lot for different screencaps, so its not followed exactly).

27 - Dude. Duuuuuuuuuude. That one is gorgeous. Whatever you did with the coloring (I told you, I suck at being a critic) makes it look like a painting. Really really purty.
...And that's it. That was my best effort. I can't critique icons ^^; mainly 'cause I've no idea what they mean by coloring, cropping, etc. But hey, they're still gorgeous *drools over John and Rodney* You always have a thing about making them extra pretty in your icons ^.~ Obviously, took a bunch (more like all *falls*), will credit if used!
